POLISH WINES FOR FOREIGNERS is the only wine knowledge course in Poland based entirely on Polish winemaking and wine, intended exclusively for foreigners. The course is conducted entirely in English.

The program of this six-hour course includes basic information about Polish winemaking, the history of Polish winemaking, the ABC of wine tasting, Polish wine regions and discusses the grape varieties most commonly grown in Poland. A visit to a local vineyard can be an optional element that will allow participants to get acquainted directly with the winemaking process. The question and answer session gives participants the opportunity to explore additional topics and solve doubts. At the end of the course, participants receive certificates of completion.
Part 1 – general information:
· presentation of the objectives of the course and a brief overview of the programme
· introduction to Polish winemaking
· a short presentation on the history of Polish winemaking
· Polish wine regions – presentation of the most important wine regions in Poland and characteristics of individual regions and their impact on the taste of wine
Part 2 – the basics of knowledge about wine
· types of wines and their classification
· the basic elements of the wine label and their meaning
Part 3 – ABC of wine tasting
· practical wine tasting tips
· learning about the stages of tasting on a specific example of Polish wine – visual, olfactory and taste analysis
· recognition of basic flavors and aromas in Polish wine
· grape varieties grown in Poland
· tasting workshops – discussion of 8 wines from all over Poland
· discussion of individual wines in terms of aromas, flavors and characteristics
· Polish wine and Polish dishes – the basics of food&wine pairing
Part 4 – History of Polish winemaking – overview
· presentation of key figures and events related to winemaking in Poland
· wine and culture – getting to know the role of wine in Polish culture and tradition
· presentation of various occasions and events during which wine is consumed and promoted in Poland
Part 5 – Summary
· An open session where attendees can ask questions and get additional information
· An overview of the most important topics covered during the course
· Course completion certificates
Part 6 – OPTIONAL – a trip to a Polish vineyard – option additionally paid
